Now, it's the time for Apple to make people aware that Samsung did not copy its iPad. Apple has now been ordered by a judge to publish the ruling, which says that Samsung didn’t copy designs for the iPad, on its UK website and in British newspapers.

According to a Bloomberg report, "The notice should outline the July 9 London court decision that Samsung's Galaxy tablets don't infringe Apple's registered designs, Judge Colin Birss said yesterday. It should be posted on Apple's UK home page for six months and published in several newspapers and magazines to correct any impression the South Korea-based company was copying Apple’s product, Birss said."

However, Richard Hacon, a lawyer for Apple, expressed his concern saying, "No company likes to refer to a rival on its website."

Judge Colin Birss, in the July 9 judgement, said that Samsung's Galaxy tablets belonged to the same family as the Apple design when viewed from the front, but the Samsung products were "very thin, almost insubstantial members of that family with unusual details on the back".

"They do not have the same understated and extreme simplicity which is possessed by the Apple design. They are not as cool," he said. "The overall impression produced is different."

The two companies are waging legal battles in about 10 countries, accusing each other of patent infringement as they vie for supremacy in the mobile device market.
