he iPhone and iPad maker Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has accused Microsoft of copying its devices.
A company executive said that it previously licensed its design patents to Microsoft with an anti-cloning agreement.
The two tech companies are fighting each other in a patent infringement case accusing each other of violating their patents.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s patent licensing director Boris Teksler said, “Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s decision to license its design patents to Microsoft was consistent with its corporate strategy because the agreement prohibited Microsoft from manufacturing copies. There was not right with respect to these design patents to build clones of any type”.
