The current patent infringement case between giant smartphone makers Apple and Samsung has coughed out several newsworthy numbers, with the court forcing both companies to turn in their financial records.

AllThingsD was able to snap up some documents filed on Thursday that revealed Apple and Samsung shipments in the US market, an action initiated by the former to establish how the latter impeded sales of iPhones.

Based on the statistics found in the filings, the Cupertino-based tech giant sold 85 million iPhones from 2007 to Q2 2012 in the US, which pulled in $50 billion in revenue. Apple also shipped 46 million iPod Touch portable music players and 34 million iPad tablets since the latter launched two years ago. The South Korean phone maker fared well also, thanks to its Galaxy lineup of smartphones and tablets.  From June 2010 to June 2012, Samsung sold 21.25 million phones for $7.5 billion in revenues, which include 1.4 million Galaxy Tab devices that raked in $644 million.

Samsung’s biggest seller was the Samsung Galaxy S2, its flagship smartphone in 2011, which has been bought 4.1 million times in the US and counting. The company also shipped 2.25 million and 1.89 million Galaxy Prevail and Epic 4G phones, respectively.

The judicial proceedings between Apple and Samsung is likely to last until the end of this month. Despite both companies’ desires to hold their market data from its rivals, several of them have been submitted to court already. We expect more to come our way.
